SEC extended consideration of two Bitcoin ETF
Cryptocurrency assets ended the previous trading week in the positive zone, despite a number of negative news. Bitcoin rose to the resistance of 4100 dollars, Ethereum slightly strengthened to the mark of 141 dollars, and the price of XRP reached the value of 0.3090.
The main cryptocurrencies are growing, despite a number of not very favorable news for the market. Thus, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) extended the consideration of two applications for registration of Bitcoin-ETF for another 45 days. Probably, the regulator will continue to delay this process and can postpone decision making up to 240 days. The news of an insider attack on the Bithumb digital trading platform was also negative for the crypto market.
On Friday, the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb reported a burglary. On the official website of the company, an entry appeared about the anomalous number of transactions for cryptocurrency withdrawal, due to which the deposit and withdrawal functions were disabled, and all tokens were moved to cold wallets. According to preliminary reports, 3 million EOS tokens and about 20 million XRPs were stolen, totaling about $ 18.5 million. Also last week it was reported that the Singapore cryptocurrency exchange DragonEx was hacked by hackers. The amount of stolen tokens was not published, but the management of the exchange took responsibility for the return of funds. Part of the stolen tokens managed to return, but the work of the exchange was stopped. Prior to these two cases, the last time about hacking a cryptocurrency exchange was reported in January, when the New Zealand platform Cryptopia suffered.
Despite the not very favorable news, the rate of Bitcoin, according to Libertex, increased by 10.00 by 0.8 per day by 0.8% - to 4,124 dollars with a capitalization of 72.9 billion dollars. Ethereum by this time has risen in price by 0.57% - to 142.3 dollars, its capitalization has reached 15 billion dollars. XRP increased in price by 0.97% - to $ 0.313 with a capitalization of $ 13 billion. Litecoin per day added 0.17% and rose to 60.4 dollars, its capitalization reached the level of 3.7 billion dollars.
Another well-known cryptocurrency exchange Bibox (11th place in the CoinMarketCap ranking by trading volume) announced the upcoming launch of its own platform for initial stock exchange placement. The exact launch date of the platform is not reported, but the price of the exchange token has increased by more than 35% lately.
The total capitalization of the crypto market was $ 145.5 billion. In our forecast for Monday, we expect further slight growth of Bitcoin to the levels of 4120, 4150 and 4180 dollars, Ethereum - to 145 dollars, XRP - to 0.32 dollars, and Litecoin - to 61 dollars.
